Sita Helms
Sita Helms is a full-time volunteer. She is on call and is available 7 days a week for our corporate accounts scheduling pick ups and drop offs ongoing. She has served as a founding member of The Helping Hand Worldwide, and currently serves as the Executive Director.
Mrs. Helms is a certified real estate Appraise and a licensed Real Estate Agent. She speaks Spanish fluently. She has over 20 years experience working as a Real Estate as an Agent and 18 years of experience as a Real Estate Appraiser.
Her philanthropic service includes a Director on the Board of Meals on Wheels, Moms For Safe Parks, Board Member of Parks and Recreation Committee in the City of Laguna Beach.
As the Helping Hand Executive Director her role is to Direct and organize all pick ups and volunteer schedules with our food banks as well as keep us focused on our Charter and it’s goals, to track our effectiveness as a service organization, and to represent Helping Hand in dealing with agencies & vendors on the corporate level.
Lisa Selbe, PR Director
Lisa Selbe is a full-time volunteer. She has served as a founding member of The Helping Hand Worldwide, past secretary for the Board of Directors, and currently serves as the Public Relations Director.
Mrs. Selbe has a certificate of fluency in French from the Sorbonne University. She has over 20 years experience working in purchasing, event planning, sales, and public relations. Her philanthropic service includes High Hopes Head Injury Program, Gamma Phi Beta Camping for Girls, Sigma Chi Horizons, Upper Newport Bay Nature and Ecological Preserve, and Greenpeace.
As the Helping Hand PR Director her role is to keep us well connected to our community.
Tamara McCormic,
Director of Development
Bio
Tamara McCormic, foundation developer of Voice of a Generation, brings a talent for non-profit incorporation, fiscal sponsorship, tax exemption, and charitable giving. Her dream is to help as many people as possible find their passion and purpose in life by shining a light on the God-given skills and talents each one of us possesses. In 2006, Tamara began the process of merging her legal and real estate experience, along with her exemplary interpersonal skills to entering the world of non-profits. She is currently, a founding director of Language Immersion for Families and Teachers and Director of Development for Helping Hands Worldwide.
In 2003, Tamara, a licensed California real estate broker, started a successful real estate brokerage company, Coastline Real Estate Investments specializing in commercial and residential sales and property management.
Tamara, holds her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, San Diego and a juris doctor from University of San Diego School of Law. She resides in San Clemente, CA with her husband and three children.
Annette Temple,

Roy Temple,
Advocacy Directorr
Roy and Annette Temple have devoted their lives to charity work for over 40 years, volunteering in the local community and running organizations that serve the needy. Annette started her charity work by volunteering in the religious education office and teaching Sunday school at her church. She organized and headed up the very first rummage sale almost 40 years ago, and it is still an annual event.
She and Roy became successful estate liquidators, and used that expertise when they started managing the local St. Vincent de Paul thrift store. They controlled the store and opened a second location where they sold higher end items. They presided over the two stores for 19 years, and Roy was the warehouse manager for St. Vincent de Paul for 16 of those years. They have been involved in Helping Hand Worldwide from the start, and are on the board of directors. They oversee the daily operations and make sure that the donated food, clothing and other items get to the people in our local community who need it most.
Lauren D. Polley
Ms. Polley holds a Masters of Public Health Degree from California State University, Northridge. She has over ten years experience working in the health care field and over 27 years as an entrepreneur and business owner. She brings good business, financial, planning, operational, and interpersonal skills.
Her current philanthropic service includes over three years on the Board of Directors for Laura’s House and sponsoring two children through World Vision for over ten years. She also volunteers for The Helping Hand World Wide, as needed.
She has previously been a volunteer at Miller’s Children’s Hospital, Women of Vision, Orange County, The Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Beach, and the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter. Additionally, she has completed the 40 hours of state certified domestic violence advocate training.
Scott Young
Scott Young has been a volunteer and served in a number of positions on community service organizations since moving to Mission Viejo in 1986. Some of those include, the YMCA, Serra’s Pantry at the San Juan Mission, the Volunteer Center of Orange County, SchoolsFirst Credit Union, Operation Christmas Child/Samaritans Purse, Samantha’s Pride and Helping Hand World Wide. Mr. Young is serving his fifteenth year as an elementary school principal in the Capistrano Unified School District. He has served at Moulton ES, Palisades and his most recent school, Vista del Mar. Under his leadership Moulton School was recognized as a California Distinguished School in 1997 and a National Blue Ribbon School in 1999. He has also taught every grade from kindergarten through 12th grade, with the exception of the second and fourth grades.
Mr. Young received his bachelor’s degree and teaching credentials from Chapman University, and his master’s degree in school administration from National University.
